Mr, VAUGHAN, the magistrate, wants to know why ladies should not be allowed to smoke if they want to. We fancy that if they want to smoke they will do so, without waiting for permission. But, as a rule, they seem content to let well alone. There are two good reasons against ladies smoking. In the first place it does not look nice, and in the second place it involves a certain amount of keeping the mouth shut.
